About me
Dear pet owners, welcome to my profile. I started taking care of pets in high school. Unfortunately, it was not possible until then due to the conditions. Later, we moved and had a beautiful dog, Snupy – a mix of Dalmatian and Pomeranian from an acquaintance. Then another small mixed stray dog wandered up to us and since it was cold winter time, we took him home and since then he spent 17 beautiful years with us together with Snoopy, they happily ran around together in the yard and in the house until the cats wandered over to us - more precisely we took stray cats in. Once again, everyone lived happily together.
Currently, we only have 2 new cats with our parents - 1 male and 1 female, as Snupy and Miuška are no longer with us, as are the previous cats. We had to help them on the other side due to health problems resulting from old age /Snupy 18 and Mia 17 years/.
My partner and I started having rats 10 years ago. Incredibly intelligent, perceptive and playful creatures. Here I found out gradually that I have a strong bond with these tiny beings and I perceive their health problems even before they become visible. As their metabolism is extremely fast and all processes are accelerated, a lot of things happen suddenly. That's why you have to be ready for anything from one second to the next. Over the years we have had both females and males and they have taught me a lot. We went through tumors of the mammary glands, respiratory infections, polyps, pyometra, pituitary tumor, preputial abscesses and epileptic seizures, all the way to palliative care at the end when the rat still wanted to live but his legs could no longer carry him, he had a problem with defecation and I had to take care of him and wash him, give him medicines and figure out what he eats them in - it is not common for a healthy rat to wash them because they are clean and wash themselves almost 100 times a day. And then, if necessary, to make the most difficult decision when the bond is the strongest - you are taking care of the animal and it fully trusts you and surrenders -, and then to let it go - probably the most difficult decision in life...
BUT they bring a lot of joy and pleasure just like all animals do.😊 And I adore them.
I will take care of your animals, pet them, stroke them, play with them and they will be provided with the necessary care and attention. The rats will of course have free range roaming time during my presence at home, let them frolic and run around.
I can't look after the dogs at the moment for a simple reason, I have more work and my routines in the morning and I wouldn't have time to fully walk the dog in the mornings. We'll see, maybe later :-)
As for the rats, of course I can handle the whole pack with equipment (cage, drinking bowl, etc.) :)
As for cats, I can handle 2.
I don't have any problem with an animal with a handicap - ataxia, a missing leg or blindness... we can easily handle all of that.
What I would like to know about the of the dog/pet
*What are the pet's needs, preferences, regime
tolerance/intolerance of other animals in their presence
*allergies/food intolerances
*medications/special care/health problems
*handicap - ...
everything I should be aware of in absence of the pet owner :)
