Paula má skúsenosti s opatrovaním detí aj s prácou s deťmi so špeciálnymi potrebami. Opatrovala a doučovala 9-ročného chlapca s Aspergerovým syndrómom a pomáhala aj pri starostlivosti o 3-ročného chlapca. Pracovala ako asistentka na škole pre deti s intelektovým nadaním.
Je študentkou 2. ročníka odboru liečebná pedagogika a v tejto oblasti by sa chcela profesionálne rozvíjať aj v budúcnosti.
Rada by bola nápomocná aj pri starostlivosti o seniorov – najmä vo forme sociálneho kontaktu, drobných nákupov, varenia či pomoci v domácnosti.
Vo voľnom čase hrá na husle, spieva a cvičí.

How Paula handles everyday situations

You are about to look after 5 years old Anna from Prague. She has been going to kindergarten for a year and her mum and dad need to have a rest and go for the trip together on Saturday. You know Anna has been looked after only by her mum's sister, she would not last long for the book and enjoys any movement the most. The parents won't have any special requirements for the daily schedule leaving it completely up to you. What is your common Saturday going to look like?

Ak sa s Aničkou stretnem prvýkrát, tak by sme sa najprv zoznámili a potom išli na ihrisko, aby sa somnou cítila celý deň bezpečne. Po ihrisku by sme sa išli spoločne najesť (so súhlasom rodičov) a po obede navrhnem čas na oddych, ktorý nemusí byť, ak sa Anička na to necíti. Namiesto toho si môžeme tvoriť veci z papiera alebo kresliť. Ak to počasie dovoľuje, tak by sme sa mohli ísť prejsť do parku alebo do lesa :)

You are at the sandpit with Anna enjoying not only playing at climbing frames but also making sand cakes. Anna is sitting calmly trying to prepare a confectionery pleasure. She is holding a sifter in her hand "sugaring" the sand cake. Suddenly, a little girl approximately at the same age comes to her, takes the sifter and is going to play with it herself. Anna is really unhappy and looks as she is going to cry. How are you going to solve the situation?

Aničku podporíme v tom, že je v poriadku, že sa momentálne takto cíti a citlivo vyriešime situáciu aj s druhým dievčatkom a vysvetlíme jej, že Anička sa práve so sitkom hraje. Dievčatku vysvetlíme, že si môže sitko zobrať keď sa Anička dohrá a pozveme ju do hry, aby sa obe naučili zdieľaniu hračiek..

You have agreed with the parents they would come back home in the evening to make their daughter fall asleep. Half an hour before they should arrive, the desperate mother is calling you she has been stuck in traffic on the highway and they will certainly not be able to arrive on time. There is going to be a serious delay and there is nobody to substitute for them. Anna is quite tired of the all-day rollicking and she is asking for her parents. How are you going to cope with the situation?

K Aničke budem empatická a úprimne ale veľmi citlivo jej vysvetlím situáciu, že rodičia sa vrátia z výletu s oneskorením. Dám jej pocit bezpečia a uistím ju, že všetko je v poriadku. Pokúsim sa čo najviac napodobniť Aničkinu večernú rutinu - kúpanie, zúbky, pyžamko, rozprávka. Ak by bolo možné, tak by som Aničke dala maminu k telefónu aby jej popriala dobrú noc. :)
